Rehearsal 10/13

I learned a lot about Agnes this rehearsal! It started really low energy and I felt like it wouldn't lead to any big forward momentum in character building, but the last ten minutes of rehearsal really helped me understand her better. Talking with Ben and Sarah about scene six, we figured out that Agnes hasn't dealt with her emotions surrounding Tilly's death at all and this is the first time we see her open up to Vera ("I want to know why she liked it so much"). She barely says anything in depth, but because most of her relationships are superficial, this one line is a big deal. I'm glad Sarah and Ben have so many character questions to ask during scene work; it's really helpful in my understanding of the lines and of the characters. I feel like the script is making more sense every rehearsal.
