The initial audition was composed of a monologue and two scene readings with other actors. I only read for Agnes and Tilly in auditions, so it was fun getting a bit more time to work on the idea of those characters instead of reading for several characters at once. I was apprehensive of the Zoom format at first, but it ran rather smoothly with the help of breakout rooms and good communication from Ben and Sarah. The scenes were super fun and high energy, which helped me get into the swing of it. All my scene partners were nice and excited to be there, which also encouraged me. I felt okay about my performance, but I felt disconnected from the monologue I read as Agnes (it's supposed to be a very vulnerable moment and I didn't feel very confident in it).
Callbacks were a bit more intense and lasted about three hours, but they were also pretty seamless and fun. We took several breaks and had a lot of encouragement from Ben and Sarah. I felt really confident in my scene work as Agnes, but the parts I read for Tilly felt disingenuous and like I was indicating a lot, especially in her monologue. My Agnes monologue was, in my opinion, the strongest part of my audition. I felt a lot more connected to the character and the circumstances in which she's saying the monologue, which I think is what pushed me to get the role (though I can't be sure).
